Joel as a young boy lived in Valle Gran Rey, a small village in La Gomera, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean. The city is known for its beautiful black sand beaches, so it wasn’t unusual to find tourists on the island. Fishermen will often line up their boats on the waters of the island. Even little children sometimes frequent the sand beaches and water edges. The children will often throw food into the water to attract sea creatures they could befriend.

Joel wasn’t left out of this activity. It was a daily early morning routine for Joel and his friend to go down to the harbour waters with food. They had befriended a sea creature and fed it daily. That day, they had gone down to the harbour water with food as usual to feed the sea creature they had befriended. But, that morning someone was closely watching. The observer was fascinated by the unusual interaction, so he filmed everything.
